Jill was awarded a CBRC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship to develop nursing and patient care research and to pursue her interests in reproductive sexual health.
Jill has extensive experience of working in the field of primary care & women's health as a Midwife, Health visitor and Sexual health nurse and in nursing and midwifery education as a Clinical Lecturer. Jill has a PhD in The Prevention of Unplanned Pregnancy in Women with Diabetes Mellitus and is working with Professor Judith Stephenson's team in the Department of Reproductive Health. She also works in clinical practice as a Specialist Sexual Reproductive Health Nurse. Her main research interest is in pre-pregnancy health and care but other interests include involving patients in research and clinical studies of contraceptive methods.
In 2010 Jill was awarded a UCL Beacon Bursary and has set up The Margaret Pyke Centre Research and Innovations Forum to involve patients in the design and management of research.
Jill has been instrumental in forming a European Pre-pregnancy Research Collaboration bringing together EU and other countries to work together in this emergent area of research. Jill is a Director of the Nurses Association for Contraception & Sexual Health and is a member of the RCOG Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Clinical Studies Group and the European Society of Contraception Nurses Group.
