Apply now for the Clinical Academic Training Programme (CAPT)

You can now apply for the Clinical Academic Training Programme (CAPT) which is designed to enable the delivery of the government's strategy "Developing the Role of the Clinical Academic researcher in Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions" (March 2012).

This year, a new national intership programme is being implemented as a first stage of the "pipeline" for the overall CAPT programme.

This new internship programme aims to:

  • offer practitioners who are considering a clinical research career, an internship period which will give participants experience of working in a research environment;
  • enhance each intern's ability to apply successfully for formal research training within the CAPT programme.

The internship is open to Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals who hold a degree level qualification, are currently registered to practice in the UK, and who work in practice for at least 1 day per week.

Each applicant must have a keen interest and display a strong suitability for a research focussed clinical career.

Applications should be sent directly to Fleur Kitsell Fleur Kitsell

Deadline: 9.00am Monday 9 October 2012, with interviews to be held on 18 October 2012
