RCN Foundation Autumn 2017 Bursary Schemes - Open (Published September 2017)

Three bursary schemes providing up to £5,000 in funding opened on 31st August 2017.

The Professional Bursary Scheme supports individuals in learning and development activities such as post-graduate university study or professional short courses. Learning from these activities should enhance patient care, patient experience and development in nursing practice. Applications are welcome from those who wish to focus on the following two areas:

• primary care nursing
• long term/chronic conditions

We will fund projects focussing on a number of issues including, but not limited to, the following: obesity, mental health, children and young people's services, older people, and dementia.

The Kershaw Family Bursary, sponsored by a grant from Professor Dame Betty Kershaw's family, are for health care assistants and assistant practitioners to encourage and support them in furthering their careers. Each bursary is worth up to £500.

The RCN Foundation and Leukaemia Care are offering bursaries of up to £5,000 to support haematology nurses who work with blood cancer patients and their carers. Leukaemia Care is committed to supporting anyone affected by blood cancer, therefore, your application must make an impact on the quality of care and support you provide to patients and their carers.

The RCN Foundation in partnership with the Worshipful Company of Needlemakers is offering educational bursaries of up to £1,000 each to assist individuals in learning and development activities such as post-graduate university study or professional short courses. The learning from these activities should enhance patient care, patient experience, and development in nursing practice.

The RCN Foundation Marcia Mackie Bursary Scheme and Rae Bequest Bursary Schemes offer financial support to nurses currently registered in the UK and working in Northern Ireland in any sector who wish to undertake a course or programme that will enhance patient care, patient experience and development in nursing practice.
